Job description:
The aim of mooring agents is to prevent the degradation of devices and contribute to the respect of marine ecosystems, check the mooring and buoyancy of boats, agents inform and guide users of the mooring area, they enforce the regulations of the mooring area.
Place of work :
Zone de mouillage d'équipements légers (ZMEL) de la baie marigot, under the authority of the management of the Établissement portuaire de St-Martin.
Duties:
- Monitor and control activities in the area
- Ensure compliance with the ZMEL's police and operating regulations.
- Invite yachtsmen to make their entry declarations to our clearing services.
- Report any incidents, damage, anomalies or malfunctions
- Carry out equipment inventories where necessary (positioning, damage).
Working conditions:
The Mooring Agent works at the port of St Martin according to predefined duty hours.
Wearing a uniform that clearly indicates his or her function, he or she monitors the application of the ZMEL police regulations, in accordance with management instructions.
A boat will enable him to carry out his daily missions on the stretch of water.
Skills required:
- Good knowledge of the maritime world and its regulations
- Knowledge of boat types
- Maneuvering and mooring rules
- VHF radio technique and language
- Coastal license
- Be of legal age and have a clean criminal record.
- Fluency in French and English.
